These publications can offer you recommendations, review and basic information about new and existing restaurants, shops and other local events. Some city guides are more useful than others, but if you hook up with one associated with the local newspaper, you will likely find something to occupy your time once you relocate to the neighborhood.

But here is a simple tip for you: Do you want to learn more about your new surroundings? Get out and experience it, don’t just read about it. Shopping and dining out at the local restaurants (and we mean LOCAL restaurants – not chains!) will help you to not only adjust to your new environment, but make you more aware of the community as a whole. Eating does a hearth good!
